Islamabad: Federal Minister for Finance Miftah Ismail on Tuesday (August 30) announced the merger of the Kamyab Jawan Programme (KJP) with the Kamyab Pakistan Programme (KPP), news sources reported.

The minister said the government would operate both the projects through a single window to make them more accessible for the youth. He added that the project will be directly handled by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) through the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Youth Affairs. The minister was of the view that the projects are of extreme importance in reducing poverty and providing sustainable development for the youth. The minister also announced higher funding for the programme to mitigate the effects of floods.

It is important to mention that the KPP and KJP were launched by the federal government to support youth entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods. The government had allocated huge sums for the new entrepreneurs for small-scale businesses.
