Lahore: In addition to the recently announced exemption for construction industry, which will start its activities on April 14, the government has also decided to extend a similar exemption to the textile industry, a news source reported.

According to reports, the production units of the industry have already started production following the official announcement. Reportedly, the government took the its decision aiming to provide financial relief to the workers of the industry.
Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) lauded the government’s decision. It also vowed to take strict precautionary measures as directed by the authorities and health experts.

PRGMEA Regional Chairman Sohail A Sheikh and Chief Coordinator Ijaz Khokhar, in a joint statement, assured the government of drafting elaborate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and its strict imposition to not compromise the health of the workers.
