Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has issued directives to the government’s economic team to provide more funds transfer facilities to banks and overseas Pakistanis, a news source reported. The aim of this initiative is to promote remittance levels by offering additional concessions to the expatriates.

PM Khan gave the orders while chairing a session of the economic team, during which he also reviewed the overall economic and financial situation of the country. Meanwhile, officials concerned briefed the PM about the issues of the real estate developers. In response, the premier directed the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Shabbar Zaidi to resolve these issues soon.

The PM also gave orders to utilise the government-owned land for the execution of the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP). He further directed to facilitate the overseas Pakistanis with regard to their funds transfer concerns. He added that they should enjoy concessions for showing willingness to strengthen Pakistan’s economy.

Meanwhile, the government has formed a committee to design the concession package. The meeting also included a briefing on the establishment of e-gateway for electronic payments.
