Qureshi was chairing a meeting with the Pakistani community residing in Saudi Arabia through a video link. He said that the government cannot continue indefinitely with the ongoing lockdown because no one can predict how long it will last. A session of the National Assembly has also been convened to discuss coronavirus situation, he said.
The minster explained that currently the government’s policies are dictated by stopping the spread of the COVID-19 cases while keeping the economy running – which is why a complete lockdown cannot persist.
