Islamabad: The government has released PKR 124.2 billion out of the pledged PKR 675 billion for various ongoing and new development schemes under its Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2018-19, a news source reported. A major chunk of the released funds has been allocated for federal ministers, who will receive PKR 67.74 billion.
According to Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform, PKR 18.6 billion has been released for special areas, whereas PKR 32.82 billion has been released for National Highway Authority (NHA) against total allocations of PKR 185.2 billion.
At least PKR 3.137 billion has been released for National Transmission & Dispatch Company (NTDC) and Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) against total allocations of PKR 33.36 billion.
The government has also released PKR 2.78 billion for Communication Division (other than NHA) out of a total sum of PKR 13.97 billion under PSDP 2018-19. The railways department has received PKR 8.07 billion out of its total allocation of PKR 28.06 billion, whereas the aviation division received PKR 443.5 million against total allocations of PKR 3.65 billion.
An amount of PKR 11.8 billion for various development projects of Higher Education Commission out of PKR 30.9 billion has also been released, while PKR 10.1 billion has been released for Atomic Energy Commission.
Moreover, the water division received PKR 10.5 billion against a total PKR 77.9 billion under PSDP 2018-19. The government also released PKR 1.3 billion for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Division, for which an amount of PKR 10.9 billion has been allocated, while PKR 114 million has been disbursed for Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority out of its total allocations of PKR 285 million.
An amount of PKR 1.34 billion has been released for the finance division out of its total allocations of PKR 12.34 billion and PKR 231.34 million has been released for Climate Change Division out of its total allocations of PKR 802.7 million.
