Islamabad: The government on Monday announced the formation of a body for addressing several anomalies identified in the draft of the Financial Budget 2020-21 announced last week, a news source reported. As per details, Advisor to the Prime Minister (PM) on Commerce & Investment Abdul Razak Dawood would head the said committee.

To this effect, the Ministry of Commerce has requested all stakeholders to submit their feedback on the draft Finance Bill 2020-21 by June 17. Minister for Industries & Production Hammad Azhar stated that the ministry would examine the feedback received for incorporation or otherwise in the draft bill.

Following the announcement of the finance bill last week, the local business community, independent economists, and the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI) had expressed their dissatisfaction over fiscal measures proposed in the budget. They further stated that the government did not consider their recommendations for inclusion in the budget announcement.
