Sialkot: Advisor to the Prime Minister (PM) on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood on Monday said that the government was committed to providing comprehensive policy and regulatory solutions in a bid to maintain economic stability in the wake of the COVID-19 spread, a news source reported.

He further stated that the commerce ministry had involved all stakeholders to deliberate upon the situation of trade and investment during the pandemic. To this effect, he recently held a meeting with a delegation of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and discussed the problems faced by the local business community in the wake of the coronavirus spread.

Dawood assured the delegation that the government was exploring viable, new markets for the import of food products, in addition to ensuring that export orders of Pakistan were not cancelled. He informed the delegation about the ongoing work on a relief package for the commerce industry, specifically the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Additionally, the delegation was informed about the measures undertaken by the government to give relief to the export-related industry.
