Lahore: The Punjab government has approved the master plan of PKR 4 billion underground entry/exit plan for the Central Business District (CBD), news sources reported on Monday (January 03). The plan includes the remodelling and restructuring of Kalma Chowk and Gulberg Main Boulevard.

Reportedly, the project’s main developers, Asian Consultants, have prepared a 3-dimensional (3D) video of the project. As per the proposed design, there will be two underground floors for the entry and exit routes, as well as an underground parking area at the entrance point. Sub-surface Ramp One will be used for the entry, while an underground basement ramp will be used for the exit. While there will also be an upgraded green area and landscaping at the entry point. Similarly, roads will be merged to connect entrances and exits to Main Boulevard, Kalma Chowk and Center Point, all of which will be remodelled to accommodate the changes.

It is important to recall that the Punjab government recently announced Lahore’s first modern downtown project in the CBD. The project will include underground parking, a blue road network, and an environmentally and business-friendly design.
