Islamabad: In a major step towards enhancing higher education access, the federal government has approved the establishment of campuses of the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) and COMSATS University in Karachi.
Federal Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui granted in-principle approval for the expansion, aligning with the prime minister’s vision to improve education and drive economic growth.

According to the ministry, a temporary campus of COMSATS University will be set up at CWHR Hub Road, while a dedicated campus, with an estimated cost of Rs4.6 billion, has been proposed under a submitted PC-I.
The initiative aims to provide students in Karachi with greater access to quality education in science and technology, further strengthening the country’s academic and research landscape.
