Lahore: The federal government has approved plans to run a shuttle train service between Gujranwala and Lahore, according to a news report. According to details, the Pakistan Railways (PR) management plans to introduce four new shuttle train facilities across the country this month.
These include Lahore-Raiwind, Lahore-Gujranwala, Hyderabad-Karachi, and Lahore-Jallo trains. The Lahore-Jallo train that runs between Lahore and Wagha railway station was recently launched by Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad.

The railways department has already announced its decision on keeping the fares for these trains low in order to make them affordable for people from all walks of life. For example, the fare for Lahore-Gujranwala shuttle is expected to be fixed at PKR 100 for one side of the journey.
The railways department has also offered four passenger trains – Sir Syed Express, Jinnah Express, Rehman Baba Express and Tezgam Express – and three freight trains to private sectors for operation.
