Islamabad: The federal government anticipates the revival of industrialization in Pakistan under the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, a news source quoted Planning, Development & Reform Secretary Zafar Hasan as saying.

Chairing a meeting of the Senior Civil Officers of the 111th National Management Course during their visit to the planning ministry, Hasan stated that bureaucracy was the backbone of the state. He added that bureaucrats had the responsibility to deliver and meet the expectations of the nation.
Hasan said that the authorities concerned had expanded the CPEC initiative by focusing on industrial and agricultural cooperation, trade and market access, and socioeconomic development.The secretary also briefed the officers about the workings of the Planning Commission and its administrative and financial affairs. He provided an overview of the ongoing development projects in different parts of the country. He added that they were making efforts to regain macroeconomic stability and steer the growth towards a higher and sustainable level.

Hasan informed the officers that they were trying to achieve fiscal consolidation and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He added that all these initiatives were linked closely to the role of the Planning Commission.
