Karachi: The federal government has decided to announce a plan to permanently resolve the Karachi flooding issues, according to a tweet issued by Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Thursday (August 27). He stated that the solutions proposed would include a clean-up of local nullahs, fixing the sewage systems, and resolving the water supply crisis of the metropolis.

Khan made this announcement in light of the ongoing rain crisis with Karachi flooding issues, where 18 people died on Thursday as a result. The rains caused flooding, drowning, structural collapses, and electrocution among other problems.

The prime minister directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to rescue stranded people, provide emergency assistance, and ensure food and shelter for people affected by the Karachi flooding issues. He assured the citizens that he is personally monitoring the rescue and relief operations, and is in touch with the NDMA Chairman General Muhammad Afzal and Sindh Governor Imran Ismail for constant updates. The federal government is resolved to help lift Karachi out of this crisis, and help its citizens in these difficult times.
