Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Monday said that his government accorded top priority to the uplift of the erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and would provide employment opportunities to the youth for facilitating socio-economic development in the region, a news source reported.

He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting held to review the progress on the development projects launched in the newly merged tribal districts. Leader of the House in Senate Shibli Faraz, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan, and senators Aurangzeb Khan, Mirza Muhammad Afridi, Hidayatullah, Momin Afridi and Sajjad Turi were all present at the occasion.

The attendees took stock of the advancements in the uplift projects and oversaw the post-merger processing of administrative measures in the tribal lands. The PM said that the locals had faced hardships and that the government was making utmost efforts for their socio-economic uplift.
