Lahore: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar on Wednesday has announced a new business plan to enable the Governor House to bear its own expenses, according to news sources.

In a press briefing, Sarwar revealed that the lawns at ‘colonial-era’ state symbol will be available for rent for corporate events at PKR 1,000,000 per event. As for the indoor events – in the property’s Darbar Hall – could be arranged for a fee starting at PKR 500,000.
Wedding photography will cost PKR 50,000. Similarly, for commercial videography, the charges will be PKR 5,000,000 and PKR 1,000,000 will be charged for commercial photoshoot.

The property will also allow guided 10-member group tours (PKR 2,000 for locals and PKR 6,000 for foreigners, each) on Saturdays and Sundays. The non-profit welfare organisations will be given a 50% discount for these tours.
However, the governor has declared that political events will not be allowed on the premises. He said that the revenue generated from these events and tours will be divided between payment of property’s expenses and deposit in the national kitty. The governor said that a cafeteria was also being constructed on the estate to facilitate the visitors.
