The real estate sector of Pakistan lost impetus in first quarter of the calendar year (CY) 2014. According to Zameen.com, both the activity and prices dropped in the said quarter.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government does indeed focus on the improvement of the major cities’ landscaping and transport infrastructure, but fixates on the construction of roads, overpasses and underpasses. It has the capability to undertake and execute quality transport infrastructure projects, that much is certain, but it now needs to set its sights on high-rise buildings and housing schemes, which are essential to the overall infrastructure development of the major cities.
There is a need to think beyond roads and overpasses and move towards the development of low-income housing schemes and numerous skyscrapers.
