Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Jam Kamal Alyani on Monday (September 27) announced the rehabilitation and construction of the Kuchlak-Khuzdar section of the National Highway (N-25), news sources reported.

Earlier in May, the Central Development Working Party Meeting (CDWP) allocated PKR 81.5 billion for the construction of a 330.52-kilometre-long long road section of Kuchlak-Khuzdar highway N-25. The minister claimed in a tweet from his official handle that road development will minimise traffic issues and tragic accidents. The dual carriageway on this route, he added, was a long-standing desire of the region’s people for improved connectivity.

The tender was floated by the National Highway Authority (NHA) and the Ministry of Communication using a new E-bidding mechanism that assured openness and accountability. The deadline for bidding was scheduled for October 27.In addition to this, the minister also announced the construction of an educational institute for women in the Nawan Killi area.
