Islamabad: On Tuesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced a PKR 100bn fund for start-up loans and 170,000 skilled education scholarships under Kamyab Jawan Programme for tackling unemployment in the country, according to news sources.
The PM, in a televised message, informed that the government wants to promote self-reliance in youth through skill development courses and scholarships. Out of 170,000 scholarships, 50,000 are set aside for high-end skills including Big Data (BD) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

PM Khan also said that six-month merit scholarships will allow youth to be a part of the technological revolution. The PM also added that the start-up loans will help youth to launch their businesses.
While addressing the issue of unemployment, Imran Khan said that the viable solutions for sustainable development include small and medium businesses, private-sector jobs, and start-ups. He also said that the government is unable to provide jobs in the government sector owing to the increasing pension burden on the exchequer.

PM Imran Khan said that the government plans to increase allocation to youth initiatives in the future. He also hoped that the youth would benefit from this program and focus on launching their own business rather than vying for government jobs.
