Lahore: The governing body of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Thursday approved the annual budget for the authority and its subordinate agencies – Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) and the Traffic Engineering & Transport Planning Agency (TEPA) – for (Fiscal Year) FY2020-21, according to news sources.

The total resources of LDA’s Urban Development Wing, WASA and TEPA were estimated at PKR 58.61 billion – including allocation of PKR 32.45 billion for development works. The budget was approved in the governing body meeting under the chair of Vice Chairman S M Imran.
Moreover, the total resources LDA’s Urban Development Wing for FY2020-21 are estimated at PKR 39.52 billion and the development expense will be amounting to PKR 25.87 billion – out of which PKR 17.52 billion will be provided through LDA’s own resources and PKR 8.34 billion will be given by the Punjab government.

A sum of PKR 8.74 billion has been allocated, under LDA’s own resources, for the execution of development work in the authority’s housing schemes – PKR 400 million for LDA Avenue – I, PKR 8.16 billion for the LDA City, while PKR 35 million will be used for water supply, road network and sewerage installations of Finance & Trade Centre in Johar Town and PKR 90 million will be used for scattered development projects in various LDA housing schemes.
Additionally, PKR 3.43 billion has been set aside of construction of various structures and PKR 2.11 billion will be spent on completing the ongoing infrastructural development schemes of the LDA. WASA will get PKR 17.89 billion, whereas its expenses are estimated at PKR 20.81 billion. As for TEPA, it will have PKR 1.11 billion at its disposal.
