Islamabad: A Chinese company on Wednesday expressed its interest to invest in Pakistan’s energy sector – a news source reported.
Representatives of Sichuan Chuanzhong Gas Investment Co Ltd met Petroleum Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan. The delegation said it looked forward to exploring the country’s energy sectors.

While welcoming the proposal, the minister said that Pakistan was an emerging market. He added that the government would provide a favourable atmosphere to foreign investors.
Meanwhile, a delegation of Mitsubishi Tabeer Energy called on the minister in the federal capital. Tabeer Energy, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation, showed its interest to invest in the gas sector.

The delegation said Pakistan had huge gas reserves, which needed to be explored efficiently. It expressed the hope that Tabeer Energy would help Pakistan meet its energy needs.
Sarwar said that several global firms were already in contact with the Petroleum Division for potential investment. He added that investment in the gas sector was the need of the hour.
