Peshawar: German Ambassador to Pakistan Bernhard Schlagneck has announced his government’s intention to strengthen economic and trade relations with Pakistan, according to a news report. He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting with members of the business community at the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).
At the occasion, Schlagneck stated that Germany would make the visa process easier for Pakistani businesspersons. He also agreed to work on joint efforts to boost mutual trade relations between the two countries and promised to play his part in removing the obstacles impeding the current visa process for businesspersons.

Schlagneck also revealed that Germany had made huge investments in Pakistan, and is particularly interested in social and infrastructural development projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), especially in the province’s tribal districts.

In response, SCCI President Maqsood Anwar Pervez invited German companies to invest in numerous sectors in Pakistan in order to create employment opportunities and promote sustainable economic growth in the country. Further, he suggested establishing a business facilitation desk at the German Embassy in Islamabad for this purpose.
