Gujranwala: The Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) is planning to launch a housing society for its employees on an area spanning 550 acres, states a news report.
According to details, GEPCO has invited membership applications from its 6,512 employees in Gujranwala and has also started to collect payments in this regard. Reportedly, GEPCO has already purchased 400 acres of land. Per the initial plan, the society will have residential plots on 2,294 kanals, commercial plots on 227 kanals, while 1,350 kanals will be reserved for roads, 327 kanals for parking space and 230 kanals for parks, hospitals, and offices.
The GEPCO chief executive told reporters that rules and regulations for the master plan of this project are being finalised and the company will apply for NOC to the Gujranwala Development Authority next month, after which project development will be initiated.
The estimated cost of this project is PKR 200 million.
