Sargodha: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has decided to use a geo-tagging system to curb bogus plantation drive initiatives – a news source reported.
Additionally, the authority has set a target of 50,000 plants on the green belts, important intersections and residential areas around the city (which has been divided into four zones for the purpose).

The decision to use the geo-tagging system arose due to the emergence of reports concerned with the increased frequency of unverified plantation attempts being orchestrated across the city. This measure will reportedly allow the authorities concerned to monitor the effort online.
Apart from the PHA staff, other organisation in the city will also be requested to voluntarily help with the plantation drive.
According to a PHA representative, the trees planted under the Clean & Green Sargodha will be actively protected.
