Gujranwala: The Gujranwala Development Authority (GDA) has decided to regularise illegal housing schemes that meet certain conditions, reported a news source. Developers’ projects cleared of all pending dues, and which meet GDA requirements for obtaining an NOC, will be registered.

This decision, as per officials, has been taken to protect the interests of the individuals who have invested in these projects, and it is expected to give a fair chance to around 232 illegal and unapproved housing schemes to get regularised.

Through this offer , the said societies will either have to meet GDA requirements, or face legal consequences. The Anti-Corruption Department will afterwards carry out investigations against developers still failing to meet these stipulations.

GDA Town Planning Directors have reportedly received instructions to provide NOCs to the societies that clear their pending dues. Furthermore, instructions have also been given to the Anti-Corruption Department to not harass developers.
GDA Town Planning Director Moman Raza said that NOCs will be issued in March to the societies and developers that meet HAD guidelines.
