Abbottabad: The Galiyat Development Authority (GDA) is taking stern measures to conserve the natural beauty of the Galiyat region by building new infrastructure and punishing encroachers, according to a news source.
A GDA spokesman claimed that whoever violates the approved site plan or structure of a building in Galiyat will be fined to a maximum amount of one million rupees and/or a three-year term in jail. He added that the director general and other authorised officers would have the authority to seal any structure built in violation of bylaws.
Reportedly, the beautification projects ready for inauguration include developments in the bazaars of Nathia Gali, Dunga Gali, Ayubia, Tauhidabad, and Changla Gali and five resting areas for tourists at different locations.
New facilities in Nathia Gali include public toilets, spots for tea, barbeque areas, public chairs, play land, food street, and flower markets.
