Abbottabad: The Galliyat Development Authority (GDA) has sought the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government’s help in promoting Galliyat’s tourism and hospitality sector, a news source reported.

The GDA has asked the KP government to provide support measures including tax incentives, provision of loans, and workers’ protection from unemployment. In this regard, the development authority submitted a ‘Policy Recommendations’ document to the provincial Tourism Department. As per the publication, the restoration of the tourism sector must be the center of the policy dialogue and measures should be taken to revive the economy.
According to sources, the hospitality and tourism companies have received interest-free loans to prevent their businesses from sudden collapse and to some extent provide financial support to the small & medium enterprises (SMEs) within the tourism and hospitality sector. Sources reveal that the tourism sector has expressed its willingness to offer digital products.

GDA Director General (DG) Raza Habib said that they have submitted the recommendations in document form to the KP Tourism Department for compiling a comprehensive report on the entire province. He added that the said report would be sent to the provincial chief secretary and chief minister for approval.
