Gujranwala: The Gujranwala Development Authority (GDA) appointed two of its building inspectors to dispose of pending cases of several housing schemes in the city, a news source reported. Previously, these posts had remained vacant since the past several months.

As a result of these vacant slots in the GDA’s Town Planning branch, the managements of hundreds of housing schemes had faced unnecessary delays in their cases.
Reportedly, the developers of various housing schemes had reached the GDA for the issuance of NOCs in the past but due to administrative issues, their applications couldn’t be pursued. These developers claim that they await the NOC issuance to commence with the development work and announce their plot payment plans.
Unable to procure NOCs from the GDA, the developers of hundreds of housing schemes in Gujranwala have not been able to initiate the development work and sell their inventory.

Sources within the GDA say that the appointment of the building inspectors is meant to initiate the process of NOC issuance. Moreover, the authority has announced its decision to dispose of the cases of the real estate developers on a priority basis.
