Speaking at a roundtable discussion hosted by the Institute of Regional Studies (IRS), Qambrani stated that the government, in collaboration with private companies, has launched several development projects such as energy corridors, water supply schemes, and institutions that are assisting in the transformation of the lives of Gawadar citizens. He also stated that a coal-fired power plant with a capacity of 300 MW of electricity is in the works, as well as the construction of solar parks to generate energy from renewable sources. He also emphasised the progress of Gwadar International Airport, which will begin airline operations in March of next year with the ability to accommodate an Airbus A380.

Furthermore, Qambrani added that Gwadar’s master plan is comparable to Shenzen’s and would be completed with a budget of PKR 3.3 billion. He asserted that the plan is to rehabilitate and revitalise the old Gwadar town rather than relocate residents. He urged think tanks to play a role in raising awareness about Gwadar and correcting popular misconceptions.
