Sources have revealed that 80% of the residents of these areas currently use coal and wood as their main energy source. This is not only expensive, but has also proven to be hazardous for the environment. In order to reduce the environmental impact of burning coal and wood, the local government decided to provide environment-friendly stoves to the residents of these areas, until such time as the aforementioned gas supply mechanism is in place. Reportedly, these stoves consume less coal and wood, and create less smoke.
