Kohat: The federal government recently approved the provision of gas supplies to eight union council villages (situated on the Bannu, Hangu and Rawalpindi highways) in the Kohat division, a news source reported. As per officials, the project is expected to be completed at a cost of PKR 4 billion. The KP government announced that they were planning on providing gas to rural areas of Kohat during the month of September.

According to details, the villages of Chor Lakki, Dhodha, Alizai, Shahpur, Sher Kot, Ustarzai Payan, Nasratkhel, and Khushalgarh are all set to receive gas supplies. Minister for States and Frontier Regions Shehryar Afridi said that he had informed Federal Minister for Energy Omar Ayub Khan about the areas which lacked the availability of gas supplies.

In response, the federal minister sanctioned the allocation of PKR 4 billion for this project and directed the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) to prepare a comprehensive plan on this front.
