Islamabad: The Senate Functional Committee on Less Developed Areas has directed the authorities to overcome the issues of low pressure of gas in Quetta, Ziarat, Pashin, Kalat and other areas by November, a news source reported. The meeting of the committee was chaired by Senator Usman Kakar.
The implementation on recommendations of the previous meeting was also reviewed. The committee was informed that Kalat and Ziarat are being supplied with gas and gas connections are also being provided.
The committee was also told that the issue of gas pressure has been resolved in Kalat and it would be resolved in Ziarat by November. The senate body also expressed its concerns over provision of contaminated water in Sibbi and Chaghi.
The function committee also asked for the release of PKR one billion for gas provision in areas of FATA. Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) General Manager Abdul Rauf briefed the meeting on the development projects initiated in FATA and less developed areas of four provinces.
