Karachi: Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has discovered gas and condensate at its operated exploratory well Hadaf X-1 (ST), a news source reported. The exploratory well is located in Sanghar district, Sindh.
PPP has a 65% stake in the project. Its joint venture partners, Government Holding Private Limited and Asia Resources Oil Limited, have 25 % and 10 % stakes, respectively.
The well has flowed 12.1 mmcfd of gas, condensate of 157 barrels per day along with 35 barrels of water per day at flowing well head pressure of 2,290 psi on 32/64 choke.
Major oil and gas exploration and production (E&P) companies plan to drill 90 wells in Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. The companies would drill 50 exploratory and 40 development wells.
According to figures disclosed by Petroleum Division, the country’s oil production stood at 2,458,250 metric tonnes out of a total consumption of 7,386,362 metric tonnes in 2017-18, which was 2,085,852 out of a total consumption of 6,646,965 metric tonnes in 2016-17.
