Lahore: On the instructions of Government of Punjab, the Punjab Environment Protection Authority has decided to make it mandatory for garment factories to install treatment plants, according to a news source. The decision is meant to control environmental pollution in the city before the start of smog season.
The precautionary steps are being taken as a measure to control the impact of smog in the province. For this purpose, meetings are being called on a daily basis. At the moment, many garment factories along Hudiara Drain and Ferozepur Road are reportedly draining the contaminated water in the open drains. That’s in addition to the smoke emitted.
