Lahore: The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has decided to impose garbage collection charges on shops and housing schemes – a news source reported.
Deputy Commissioner Saleha Saeed issued these directives during a meeting. LWMC Managing Director Farrukh Qayyum Butt and other officials concerned were also present at the occasion.

DC Saleha Saeed directed the assistant commissioners concerned to collect the charges from shops and 150 housing schemes. The authorities will seal the shops in case of non-compliance.
The charges will be revised under the Local Government Act. Plans will be devised with regard to dumping sites. A garbage disposal fee will be collected from over 100,000 shops.

Moreover, LWMC will establish awareness-cum-complaint shops across Lahore. The company previously set up camps in areas such as Data Darbar, Garhi Shahu, and Charing Cross.
These offices have been set up to facilitate the residents. LWMC will also launch an awareness campaign through these complaint cells.
