Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to go ahead with the establishment of the Gandhara Heritage and Culture Centre inside the F-9 Citizen Club building, according to a news story published in national dailies on Thursday (April 14).

A CDA official (whose name was not disclosed) revealed that the summary of the project was approved by the previous federal cabinet. He went on to say that the board of governors will manage the Gandhara Heritage & Culture Centre and the cabinet has also directed to add members from the private sector.
As per the details, the building spans 22 acres with 265,000 square feet covered. The building has recreational facilities including a gym, children’s play area, indoor pool, aerobics area, movie theatre space for 150 to 170 people, fitness centre, two banquet halls, multipurpose sports hall, two squash courts, and two lawn tennis courts.

Reportedly, the federal cabinet has decided that the board of governors will run it and approved the rules for the centre. It was decided that people from all walks of life will have access to the facilities in the building. Also, the centre will be used for conducting exhibitions and conventions.
