Islamabad: The Center for Culture and Development (CCD) has organised a five-day Gandhara Festival that will commence from today (October 5) at Taxila Museum featuring storytelling sessions, panel discussion, and exhibitions, according to news published on Tuesday (October 5).

As per the details, the festival will be open to the public from October 6 to 9. CCD Director Izzah Khan stated that the festival aims to promote cultural pluralism, highlight the respect for cultural diversity and heritage, and integrate intangible and tangible cultural heritage of Gandhara Civilisation through panel discussions, showcasing of local crafts, exhibition, and site visits.

She further added that CCD hopes to attract a diverse audience from educational institutions, diplomatic missions, researchers, artists, scholars, government departments, and the local community. It was also mentioned that the festival focuses on exploring the Gandhara Civilisation in Buddhist and Jain history in Pakistan. Moreover, CCD Director Khan stated that youth should be informed about the culture and heritage so they can feel connected to their roots.
