Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has awarded the contract to Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) for the construction of the Sihala flyover project on Kahuta Road, according to news published in the national dailies on April 28.

The FWO has signed an agreement with the city managers for the execution of the said project after terminating the agreement with a private company. It is pertinent to note that the project, worth PKR 770 million, was awarded to a private company and was to be completed within a year. However, the project has not even been started yet.

According to an official of CDA’s engineering wing (whose name was not disclosed), work on the flyover project will start after Eid and is expected to be completed within one year. Reportedly, the Rawal Dam Interchange and Korang Bridge projects were also awarded to FWO for completing them as soon as possible. It was mentioned that the work on all three projects will be continued simultaneously.
