Lahore: The Government of Punjab has decided to award the construction contract of Lahore Ring Road (LRR)’s southern loop to the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO), according to a news report.
According to details, FWO Director Major General Muhammad Afzal recently briefed the chief minister regarding the development work of the 30-kilometre long southern loop of LRR and summarised the development plan. According to this plan, the 5.8-kilometer patch from Sui Gas Phase I to Ferozepur Road will be included in loop 1 and the 14-kilometer long patch from Ferozepur Road to Adda Plot will be included in loop 2 and both will be developed in the first phase.
Loop 3 will be completed through a different mode, as per sources.
The news source also reveals that FWO will bear the expense of this project which will take 3 years to complete and will also collect toll tax for a period of 25 years.
