Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan has directed the officials concerned to transfer the possession of land identified in Nowshera for the development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) City to the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO), a news source reported.

He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting held to review the project’s developmental progress. He ordered the authorities concerned to transfer the possession of land to the engineering organisation within two weeks.
In response, the attendees informed the CM that the FWO had already deployed its engineers in the area to initiate work on the CPEC City. They added that the civil work would commence following the complete transfer of the land’s possession.

The CPEC City will comprise of commercial and education zones, apartments, golf course, theme park, public buildings, and sports facilities.
Further, the officials concerned told the CM that they expected the work on Regi Model Town in Peshawar, and other small-scale projects to reach completion within the deadline previously communicated by the government.
The meeting also discussed the Swat Motorway project, and other development schemes underway in the province.
