Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Chairman Muhammad Arif Abbasi has stated that the future of the garrison city is intertwined with the Ring Road project, a news source reported. During a briefing session with Director Administration & Finance Rao Atif Raza, he gave instructions to consider the various recommendations received for the development of the economic city, economic zone, housing schemes, and other basic facilities related to the project.

Based on the chairman’s directives, the RDA has ordered illegal housing schemes to stop advertising their projects. Abbasi has also directed the RDA officers concerned to take action against these societies. To this effect, the RDA Planning & Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate plans to issue notices to unauthorised housing societies under the Punjab Private Housing Scheme & Land Sub-division Rules 2010.
Abbasi has further ordered the said officials to make no comprises while approving housing projects and building plans.

The chairman also advised the general public not to invest in housing societies without first checking their registration status on the RDA’s official website.
