Karachi: The Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has directed the finance department to release PKR 336.7 million so that 110 Reverse Osmosis (RO) water plants in Thar could be made operational again, a news source reported. They had become inoperative due to lack of payments to the contractor.
The Chief Minister issued the order after it was brought to his knowledge that out of Thar’s 600 RO plants, 110 had faced closure due to lack of payments. He was informed of the issue by the committee constituted by him to visit Thar. The committee had visited Thar a day before.
The delay in issue of payments had occurred because the budget had not previously been approved.
