Gujrat: The Punjab government has released Rs 50 million for the execution of a water supply and drainage scheme in Dinga City, a major town of Kharian Tehsil. Reportedly, the government has approved a sum of Rs 200 million for the project in total.
The scheme is aimed at providing clean water to the 100,000 inhabitants of the area. District Coordination Officer Mr Liaquat Ali Chatha told reporters that the project had been designed considering the area’s water requirements for the next two decades, adding that four new turbines would be installed and two old turbines would be upgraded as part of the project.
