Faisalabad: The Government of Punjab has released funds for the construction and rehabilitation of roads in various districts of the province under Rural Accessibility Programme (RAP), a news source reported. The amount of funds released under this programme were decided in accordance with the respective size and population of these districts.

For the Faisalabad Division, the Punjab government has allocated funds worth PKR 290.2 million, while the amounts allocated for the rehabilitation and construction of rural road networks in Chiniot District and Jhang are PKR 430.9 million and PKR 440.3 million, respectively.

The provincial government also released funds worth PKR 350.5 million under the Naya Pakistan Manzilain Aasan Programme Phase II. This programme was launched in July 2019, while its first phase was initiated in Hafizabad in September 2019. This programme aims at developing, reconstructing and rehabilitating rural roads identified as high-priority by the local administration of the identified districts in Punjab.
