Karachi: Under the Annual Development Programme (ADP), the Sindh Government has allocated PKR 6.83 billion for ongoing transport schemes, according to a news report. In addition to this, PKR 599.7 million will be spent on transport schemes through foreign project assistance funds.
No allocation for transport sector has been made under the provincial budget for the fiscal year 2018-2019. Funds have also not been allocated for the procurement of the ongoing Green Bus Rapid Transit project which will be handed over to the provincial government after construction is complete to procure buses. Commenting on this, the Transport Secretary Saeed Awan has said that the buses would be procured under a public-private partnership model.
