Swabi: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has approved PKR 200 million for the reconstruction and widening of the 9-kilometre Utla-Bir Gali Road – which will be connected to the mountainous region of Gadoon Amazai, according to news published on September 27.

An official of the provincial communication and works department (whose name was not disclosed) mentioned that the work was started on the said project a few months ago. It was stated that the Utla-Bir Road will resolve the connectivity problems of the locals. The said road will promote tourism in the region as it will become easily accessible to the tourists visiting Bir Gali and Dand areas.

Moreover, the construction of the road will provide easy access to the Mahaban Moutain, which is approximately 4-kilometres from Bir Gali. It was revealed that the mountain is the junction point of the four districts, Buner, Torghar, Haripur, and Swabi. The project is expected to be completed within one and a half years.
