Islamabad: Federal Ministry for Planning and Reforms has issued funds worth PKR 4.74 billion for Diamer-Bhasha Dam, reported a news source. Funds for 16 other water reservoirs and power projects could, however, not be issued during the first half of the fiscal year 2018-19.

Reportedly, funds of PKR 3 billion and PKR 2 billion were reserved respectively for the construction of Dasu and Mohmand Hydropower Project in the budget for current fiscal year. Other hydropower projects for which the funds were reserved are located in Golan Gol, Khyal Khwar, Neelum Jhelum and Tarbela.

Funds for around 26 small dams in Balochistan, Mera Tangi Dam in Loralai, Chirah Dam in Rawalpindi, Gomal Zam Dam, Gorakh Storage Dam, Naulong Storage Dam, Baran Dam and Wamatangi Dam were also allocated in the fiscal budget 2018-19. Funds for these projects have so far not been issued.
