Rawalpindi: The Government of Punjab has approved the mega project for the expansion, widening and carpeting of three prominent roads of Kahuta, according to news sources. The project will incur an expense of PKR 410,000,000. The tenders for the construction work on these three roads will be issued soon after Eid-ul-Azha.

The Secretary of Provincial Parliamentary Secretary Raja Sagheer Ahmed spoke to the press and revealed the budget division of the project, the details of which are as follows:
- The 10-kilometre-long road connecting union council Khalol and Suihari will be upgraded and carpeted at a cost of PKR 180,000,000.
- The 5-kilometre-long road connecting Batli to Kanghar will be upgraded and carpeted at a cost of PKR 120,000,000.
- The 12-kilometre-long road connecting union council Mator and Sonothi will be upgraded and carpeted at a cost of PKR 180,000,000.
The said roads are all located in mountain ranges and their expansion will be beneficial for the locals, whose population adds up to around 3,000,000.

Moreover, the secretary said that a budget of PKR 150,000,000 has also been approved for developmental schemes related to the construction and repair of connecting tracks, smaller roads, and streets. The developmental work on these schemes will begin in September, and the expansion work of the roads will be finished in two months.
