Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah on Monday approved the funds required for the rehabilitation of the dilapidated roads in the Sindh Industrial Trading Estate (SITE) Karachi, a news source reported.

The CM approved funds worth PKR 1. 37 billion for the reconstruction of roads in the SITE area during a meeting held with the SITE Association. The members of the association apprised the CM about the dilapidated condition of the roads in the area following the recent heavy rains in Karachi.
CM Shah further approved the transfer of property tax collection to SITE Limited. The authority is expected to use the locally generated funds for the development of the industrial estate. Stating that the provincial government would reconstruct all roads under the Karachi Mega Project, the CM has asked the industries department to prepare the PC-1 for the SITE roads project and submit it for approval from the Planning & Development Department.

The CM additionally issued orders to assign the reconstruction work for the roads in SITE to the Karachi Mega Project team. He added that the development of the drainage system in the area should also be initiated under the said mega project.
