Kohat: The provincial government has approved PKR 380 million funds for the expansion of the road that connects Kutcheri Chowk with PAF Square following the signing of an agreement with the army to demolish barracks, according to news published on Sunday (October 10).

As per the details shared, the expansion of the road will ease the traffic congestion in the city. A public relations officer working with the Chairman of Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Shehryar Afridi disclosed that the road project will be completed in three phases. Under the project, plenty of parking space will be established to make sure the flow of traffic is not disturbed.

Moreover, the public relations officer stated that the total cost of the project was PKR 80 million while the remaining amount will be used to compensate the army, market owners, and shopkeepers. According to Deputy Chief Warden Arab Jan, some parts of the road were mere 15 feet to 18 feet wide, which caused traffic jams.
