Karak: Member of National Assembly (MNA) Shahid Khan Khattak recently notified the government’s decision of earmarking PKR 42.21 million for the construction of a small dam in the Zeri area of the Mithakhel Union Council (UC), according to news sources.

Khattak made the announcement during a local assemblage and said that the tenders for the project will be floated in the coming days. He further went on to say that the irrigation department will develop the said dam in Karak – in response to the long-standing demand of the locals.

The MNA expressed that the construction of the dam will also assist the residents of UC Isak Chountra and reduce the lack of drinking water as the water table would improve with its completion. He reiterated his resolve to focus on the collective welfare of the masses and take more initiatives that add to the district’s development.
Moreover, Khattak said that district organisations will be taken in loop regarding construction of the development projects.
