Lahore: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has issued PKR 159 million for the construction of Khayaban-e-Jinnah, reported a news source. The development authority has given a one-month deadline for the completion of construction work on the road.
The issued funds are part of the PKR 400 million released by the LDA for payments. The amount was issued as a first instalment under Budget 2018-19. This instalment had been pending for the last eight months. LDA was unable to release them due to financial constraints.

The project also faced delays to the formation of a new provincial government in the first half of 2018. The rehabilitation work on Khayaban-e-Jinnah started around one year ago.
This delay caused a lot of inconvenience to motorists forced to drive on the busy route. The road receives high traffic as it connects several housing schemes located around Jauhar Town and Valencia Town.
